Friends whom I met through dancing

Chingay 2001

This gal beside me is Jing Jing. We first knew each other through RAG Dance, and then joined NUS Dance Synergy together. Chingay can be considered one of our first public performances since we joined the dance group.
After weeks of practices at P.A, we finally went onto the streets on 3rd February 2001 and did our performance. Trust me, it sure was a great experience!

Glowing In The Dark is an annual charity performance organised by NTU. I help out the hostel that I volunteer my service for every time they have such performances. Sometimes have to help out backstage, sometimes do a bit of choreography and script-writing, and also perform along with my SPECIAL friends.

AEPs are performances we do at schools, to promote the art of dance to students. The money earned from the schools go into our Dance Synergy funds. We need them to pay for our biannual dance production.

Behind the scenes....

As the Chinese saying goes, "tai shang san fen zhong, tai xia shi nian gong" (to be on stage for 3 minutes, one may have to practice for 10 years).
Every performance is a lot of effort. But because dancers in Dance Synergy are fun-loving, and we all have a passion for dance, despite the hard word, we had a lot of fun going through one performance after another as one.....
Synergy...Woosh!

"An Evening with Tchaikovsky", Dec 2001, Victoria Theatre.

- A ballet concert put up by my ballet school, Sylvia McCully School of Dancing, 6 years after the last concert, The Sleeping Beauty.

The greatest achievement in my lifetime of ballet dancing so far is my performance in a corps de ballet from The Nutcracker, as one of the Snowflakes. This is the first time I put on a real ballet tutu and dance on stage with pointe shoes. Really wonder when my next performance will be........
